Veggie box 1: (rectangular)

• Box dimensions: 1800mm x 600mm x 900mm (L x W x H)
• Planting depth: 380mm
• Can comfortably accommodate 30 – 35 seedlings depending on what you’re planting
• Suited to herbs and leafy greens. The box in the picture contains swiss chard, frilly red lettuce, basil, coriander & marigolds.

 

 Veggie box 2: (square)

• Box dimensions: 1000mm x 1000mm x 900mm (L x W x H)
• Planting depth: 450mm
• Can comfortably accommodate 25 – 30 seedlings depending on what you’re planting
• Suited to herbs and leafy greens. The box in the picture contains swiss chard, frilly red lettuce, basil, coriander & marigolds.

Boxes are made from treated pine so that they last.

• Easy access & maintenance – ours stands just in front of the patio so I can quickly and easily nip out and cut a few leaves and herbs for salads.
• Because the box planter is raised, less bending is required – more comfortable for someone with back and joint problems.
• Better drainage and air circulation which means less chance of fungus, mildew and root rot. Depending on how much sun it gets, you may need to water morning and night as in the heat of summer it dries out quickly.
• Better soil – you can add garden soil, organic matter and all the other good stuff to your raised bed. Soil compaction is greatly reduced because you never step in the bed. Soil compaction inhibits plant growth, oxygen uptake and water circulation.
• It becomes a feature in your garden much the same way as pot plants do & provides you with healthy organic veggies and herbs at a fraction of the cost of store bought organic produce.
